This review is from: The Fine Life Ideal Oil Mister Air Pressure Pump Action Sprayer Grey
This Ideal Oil Mister worked perfectly to spray a fine mist of oil in a cake or frying pan, cookie sheet, on a salad or, my favorite, on air popped popcorn to help the salt stick. This is so much better than the mister I tried in the past because it is made of a hard, BPA-free clear plastic so I can see the oil level. It works a little different than the model I used to have. I simply filled it to the Max Fill line which is about halfway up the container, screwed the top with the valve back on and then put the cover over the valve and pumped it up and down 6 to 9 times or until I felt resistance. Then I removed the pump top and it was ready to spray. It will spray for about 15 seconds worth of sprays before needing to be pumped again.I really like that it sprays evenly and doesn’t sputter. It’s great for salad when you want to control the amount of oil used. A few sprays along with some balsamic vinegar and a few sprinkled herbs is really nice on a salad. I used olive oil but you could use most any kind of oil such as coconut, walnut, canola, flax seed or avocado oil. The only things you wouldn’t want to use are creamy dressings that have solids that could get caught in the nozzle. Large herbs can be put into the bottle with whatever oil used, as long as it’s large enough that it doesn’t get caught in the uptake tube which could clog the nozzle. Putting herbs in the oil for a few days and then straining it before putting it into the bottle would work well for finer herbs and spices. I may buy a second one and keep a clove of garlic in the bottle. This would be large enough not to get caught in anything. A well rinsed sprig of rosemary might be nice too.

The cleaning instructions say to fill the bottle halfway with hot tap water and 1 drop of liquid detergent. Then pump it 15 times and spray for 15 seconds. To rinse, repeat with fresh water. Easy! They recommend doing this once every 6 to 8 weeks. I plan to do it that often as well as whenever the oil runs out. This shouldn’t go in the dishwasher in case you were wondering.

This is so much nicer than buying canned cooking spray or popcorn spray that contain other additives or chemicals. And it’s a lot less expensive too, even if I use a good oil. I think it would make a nice gift. The ultimate test of any mister is how long it keeps working. This one looks pretty well made and I plan to take care of it and clean it often. I’ll post an update after I’ve used it for a long time.
